Centennial Airport Hosts Open House for Review of Noise Exposure Map Update

Public invited to learn about the updated
noise exposure map

The Arapahoe County Public Airport Authority (ACPAA) has completed the draft Centennial Airport Noise Exposure Map (NEM) Update. As part of the process, all interested parties are invited to review a draft at a public open house and learn more about the results.

What:  Centennial Airport NEM Update Public Open House
When:  Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016
Time:  5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Where:  Ramada Englewood Hotel and Suites
                7770 S. Peoria Street, Englewood, CO 80112
The NEM Update is an information gathering process that identified, inventory and reported various airport operations and land uses. The process also determined aircraft noise exposure levels related to aircraft activity, and evaluated the aircraft noise and land use compatibility at Centennial Airport. After the 30-day public comment period had closed, the draft  NEM Update, along with all public comments submitted, will be delivered to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for final review.

The 30-day public comment period runs Nov. 1 - 30, 2016.

"Centennial Airport is committed to airport noise compatibility planning and working closely with the surrounding communities," said Michael Fronapfel, director of planning and development for Centennial Airport.  "We are excited that the study is nearing completion and we were able to utilize our new noise and operations monitoring system."

Centennial Airport makes it a priority to keep the community informed about its facilities and operations.

The draft of the NEM Update will be available for public viewing and comment on the project website and at the Nov. 2 public open house. A copy will also be available for public review, during regular business hours, at the Arapahoe County Public Airport Authority Administrative Complex, 7800 S. Peoria St., Englewood, CO 80112
